Some Finished Objects

So I've done two things.
One of them, is splurge hardcore money on a yarn sale at my LYS. Color me irresponsible. But, it was worth it.
I've already used most of it, for shame, before taking any pictures.
But here's some of the stuff I've done with it.
(Bare with the color correction, I was testing a new feature)

So I made a rug. It kinda looks like Captain America's shield, but off. The middle is handspun wool I bought ages ago, the next ring is chilian wool I bought saturday not so long ago and the outside and a nice mixture of scrap yarn I had left over from other projects. I'm not sure the colors work for most people, but I find them jarringly unique.

unblocked.

I'm really proud of this hat. No seriously. It's the first time I've done anything that could constitute as lace and it worked! And I blocked it! I've crossed two things off my list of knitting goals. (plus I love to wear it, naturally)

It's extremely hard to tell the colors of my wonderful hat, based on these terrible photos I took, but it leans towards a soft green. It was knitted with classic elite fingerling weight yarn. Two skeins. The pattern is found here. (The yardage is a little more than they tell you, buy more than 150)

Sundog

It's been to chilly and rainy to go out. Stupid Florida. I thought you were the sunshine state. I guess Tallahassee didn't get the message. But I got something finished over the weekend and started something very new.
Here's the hat I finished.

I just wanna wear it everyday. It's so comfy and soft and oversized and all kinds of wonderful. And I love the moss/basketweave(?) stitch that I ended up with. There's probably a name for that, but I'm not sure what to call it. So next on the agenda, I bought this

It's my first sock yarn and this weekend, I started my first pair of socks! I found the pattern here

I'm not to sure how it'll work out. I'm watching lots of videos on how to turn a heel and block socks (because I've also never blocked before) I'm super excited for how it'll turn out. For now, I'm off to the music store to get me some staff paper.

Some FOs

I got a lot accomplished this weekend when I went home. Then I came back to school and got more done. That's a good feeling. Maybe I won't be as busy as I originally thought. At any rate, take a look at some FOs that I've got.

it's a laptop case!
I feel like I've been working on this forever. Probably because I forgot about it after I bought the yarn and started it in NOVEMBER. As far as the yarn goes, it's three lovely shades of green, orange and cream, thick thick thick. THICK & QUICK to be exact. From the makers of Wool-Ease. I might have used to small of needles, but I wanted to make sure that it would hold shape once I put a heavy laptop in it. Charming!

This is the hat that I finished for my boss. She's a really sweet lady that I've known for all my life. Recently, she just had a bout with cancer and just came back to work. I love the funky hats she likes to wear and it gave me inspiration. So I asked her favorite color and went from there. I love this pattern. Seed stitch is so cute and after that, this hat is so easy to knit up with simple knitting in a round. Props also to my dad for spotting a bunch of old buttons at a yard sale and promptly buying them.
I've also got this to show

It's the back to my sweater! Still unblocked... : /
I finally got a project somewhat completely that didn't take a few hours or days. I'm so bad about that. I have no attention span when it comes to big projects because I like to finish and move on to the next thing. I feel a great sense of pride in the time I've took to get this far. Hopefully I 'll start the front soon and finish the sucker off. For now, I've started a new hat and its super fun to knit up. Simple slouch hat, but I've done a modified moss stitch? I'm not sure what to call it.

I'm not completely in love with it yet. Hopefully I'll have enough yarn to finish it, see as it's a little larger than the typical one skein hats that I do. I also have to figure out how to decrease it without breaking that pattern. any suggestions? Let me know.

Welp, that's all for now! Ta-ta.
