The Batman

I made this for my boyfriend for his birthday. I'm not super prolific in crocheting so I whipped up what I could. I really had lots of fun making it too!

Isn't it a dream? I'm thinking of putting the pattern I created into PDF form and making the other characters as well. If anyone would like to see a pattern made for this little cutie, you should let me know. Leave a comment and consider it done.

Weekly WIPs

I've got lots that I'm working on I guess. I just need to get around to finishing stuff! I've been busy all week with orchestra and theory classes! I spent all day in a practice room on wednesday. But that's besides the point. Lets get on to what I've got going this week.

First off, the socks I started made from that pretty pretty rainbow yarn.

I finished the heel and I'm doing the instep. I feel like I'm terrible at this. I've learned that socks are really not my forte so far. It's so hard! I guess I'll keep chugging till I reach the gusset and finish the sock. Maybe I'll even make two. haha...
Next.
I made my cousin Ashley's baby Hailey some super dupper baby shoes.
The yarn color is called Antique Rose. It's all acrylic and super durable. They're really cute Mary Janes made from this pattern. All I gotta do is go back home and get some buttons for the little beauties. I hope Hailey loves them and they make for a comfy walking experience.

Last up is the pattern that I've started creating by myself. It's a pretty pink hat made of 100% wool. It's so soft and a really pretty design to accompany it. I dunno what to call it yet, it's kinda like an eyelet wave sort of deal.
I'm thinking about selling it, I've got a lot of hats in my storage. Here is the website for the yarn if you're interested. I highly recommend it. I've also started on the front of my sweater. I'm only a few more rows (a lot more rows) away from completion. It's just so bulky and hard to take around with me when I go out for the day (I knit in between classes)
That's all for my wips. I totally have something neat coming up in a few minutes (when I create the post) so stick with me.

As you can see

I attempted to create my first pattern this week! I have it available for free right under the tab labeled 'patterns' at the top of this blog. I hope to make more patterns as I am testing out one right as I type this. As soon as it's finished, I'll take pictures and let you know more details. If you try my bear hat pattern, let me know what you think!

Sundog

It's been to chilly and rainy to go out. Stupid Florida. I thought you were the sunshine state. I guess Tallahassee didn't get the message. But I got something finished over the weekend and started something very new.
Here's the hat I finished.

I just wanna wear it everyday. It's so comfy and soft and oversized and all kinds of wonderful. And I love the moss/basketweave(?) stitch that I ended up with. There's probably a name for that, but I'm not sure what to call it. So next on the agenda, I bought this

It's my first sock yarn and this weekend, I started my first pair of socks! I found the pattern here

I'm not to sure how it'll work out. I'm watching lots of videos on how to turn a heel and block socks (because I've also never blocked before) I'm super excited for how it'll turn out. For now, I'm off to the music store to get me some staff paper.

Like a grape

Off topically speaking, so my hair is purple. And this is what's bugging me lately, because I just got it done. It continues to run in the shower. It's driving me nuts! I didn't use to have this problem, but now that I've dyed more areas I guess, it's ran for a week. This isn't really anything to do with anything, I'm just frustrated and felt like ranting. I'm tired of my hands turning lavender when washing.

my camera took terrible pictures of it

Le Sigh.

Also,
I've got pretty rose colored stash yarn that I wanna use to distracted myself from finishing this sweater. I just can't think of anything to do with it. Suggestions? Let me know.

One last note,
I broke (I think) my toe a few weeks ago (on the first of the year). I wanna know why it still hurts to walk around when it doesn't look like this anymore

gross, I know. I can't help it. I feel like I'm being a big baby about the whole thing (first broken bone). But seriously. It took me forever to walk from my dorm, across campus to the music college. It's killing me and my perfect punctuality and I should go to the health center I guess, but who has the time to sit there and wait for 3 hours for a doctor to see you? (despite the fact that you made an appointment) I guess that give me time to work on ol' pumpkin jr. (sweater name)

Side note: I sure am posting a lot this week! I'm surprised that my practicing schedule hasn't clashed with my updating schedule. I feel like that makes me pretty boss I suppose.
Till next time, I leave you with magic

Hailey

This is Hailey

A few months ago, I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Very painful, very awful. To take my mind off it, I decided to knit something up from this book. A little blue birdie.
Well it turned out as good as I could hope for, but at the time I didn't really need or have very much use for it. So I decided to send it to my darling of a one-year-old cousin Hailey. I just got some pictures back expressing how much she loves it

She's too cute!
That is all.

Some FOs

I got a lot accomplished this weekend when I went home. Then I came back to school and got more done. That's a good feeling. Maybe I won't be as busy as I originally thought. At any rate, take a look at some FOs that I've got.

it's a laptop case!
I feel like I've been working on this forever. Probably because I forgot about it after I bought the yarn and started it in NOVEMBER. As far as the yarn goes, it's three lovely shades of green, orange and cream, thick thick thick. THICK & QUICK to be exact. From the makers of Wool-Ease. I might have used to small of needles, but I wanted to make sure that it would hold shape once I put a heavy laptop in it. Charming!

This is the hat that I finished for my boss. She's a really sweet lady that I've known for all my life. Recently, she just had a bout with cancer and just came back to work. I love the funky hats she likes to wear and it gave me inspiration. So I asked her favorite color and went from there. I love this pattern. Seed stitch is so cute and after that, this hat is so easy to knit up with simple knitting in a round. Props also to my dad for spotting a bunch of old buttons at a yard sale and promptly buying them.
I've also got this to show

It's the back to my sweater! Still unblocked... : /
I finally got a project somewhat completely that didn't take a few hours or days. I'm so bad about that. I have no attention span when it comes to big projects because I like to finish and move on to the next thing. I feel a great sense of pride in the time I've took to get this far. Hopefully I 'll start the front soon and finish the sucker off. For now, I've started a new hat and its super fun to knit up. Simple slouch hat, but I've done a modified moss stitch? I'm not sure what to call it.

I'm not completely in love with it yet. Hopefully I'll have enough yarn to finish it, see as it's a little larger than the typical one skein hats that I do. I also have to figure out how to decrease it without breaking that pattern. any suggestions? Let me know.

Welp, that's all for now! Ta-ta.

Essentials

I need more of these in my life.

So back to the double pointed needles of all sizes that I acquired. I've been keeping the 15 sets in the original shipping package that it came in. I just finally sat down and made one of these over at Turkey Cookie's blog. I'm so happy with the results!

Too cute! And so practical! I got to use some kinda design stitch that my mom and I hadn't used before. I love it.
On the knitting side, I'm finishing up a hat for my boss. It's coming out great! I got the pattern from Ravelry. Made it using red Vanna's Choice. I'll have a picture coming when I get a button sewn onto it, right now I'm off to work on the great sweater project (almost done with the back) be excited for the first pictures since starting!
Auf Wiedersehen

The End.

As one of my good friends told me yesterday over lunch, my life ended tonight as I went to my first orchestra rehearsal. Gone are the days of getting away with an hour or so of practice. So excuse me if my crafting isn't up to usual par. I wish I could get my sweater I started done before it gets warm again, but you never know with florida weather. Lately, only cold. I'm still on the back panel, about halfway up. No good before winter's end.
In other news, both my DPNS and my craft book arrived today. Yay! So much to do with no time. Here's a lookie.

That's about it sadly. Here's the music that's keeping my wips at bay. Joy.

All Quiet

fantastic.

sooooo I have nothing to show. I've done nothing and haven't really been that productive. The only reason I'm updating is because I don't know when I'll have the time to be productive again. FYI, school just started back up for me, and this semester is looking to be a doozie. I promise to post though. I've got something neat to show. My mom and I made a dandy knitting bag last weekend (my first time sewing) and I'll have to post a picture later.

update.

AH! It's so freaking blurry. Oh well. Trust me, this is suppa cute to boot. I love it. Perfect size too. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Anyways, I've learned that I LOVE to sew. it's seeww much fun, bad puns included. I really want a sewing machine now. When I get one, I'm gonna do the same thing as this:

too cute!

In other news, my lovely boyfriend has agreed to purchase me THIS. The Big Ass Book of Crafts.
Gosh! I'm so excited. I know this book has been circling the internet for awhile now, but I'm still jazzed to try it for myself. alright, that's really all I have to say. Next post, I promise more pictures, knitting and crafting and such. to make up for it, here's something cute.
